Prime Minister and Opposition Leader Both In Brussels Ahead Of Upcoming EU Budget

Prime Minister Robert Abela and Leader of the Opposition Alex Borg are both in Brussels, where they are each taking part in meetings and engagements with European leaders.

Abela is attending the European Council summit, where discussions are set to focus on the competitiveness of the European economy. In a video message from Brussels, the Prime Minister highlighted competitiveness as one of the key issues on the agenda, alongside the upcoming budget for the European Union.

Meanwhile, Opposition Leader Alex Borg is heading to the European People’s Party (EPP) summit, also discussing the EU’s upcoming budget. On social media, Borg emphasised how important it is that Malta’s voice is heard during these proceedings as the final decisions will directly affect locals.
