Preparations For 2026 Agriculture & Crafts Exhibition At Villa Rundle, Victoria, Gozo

Preparations are in full swing for the 2026 Agriculture and Crafts Exhibition, which will once again be held at the Villa Rundle Gardens in Victoria, Gozo, on 14 and 15 August as part of the island's traditional Santa Marija celebrations.

Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri visited the site to observe the ongoing work and was briefed on the preparations being carried out to complete the exhibition spaces, stands and display areas ahead of the annual event. During the visit, he also met workers and organisers involved in bringing the exhibition together.

The Minister thanked the workers, organisers, the Agricultural, Industrial and Cultural Society, farmers, livestock breeders, artisans and volunteers for their efforts in ensuring the exhibition is once again a success.

He described the exhibition as far more than a traditional event, saying it represents Gozitan identity and showcases the dedication of the island's farming community, the craftsmanship of local artisans and the quality of locally produced goods.

He added that continued investment in initiatives such as the exhibition helps preserve Gozo's cultural and rural heritage for future generations.

Dating back to 1855, the Agriculture and Crafts Exhibition is one of Gozo's oldest and longest running cultural events. Originally established as an agricultural exhibition, it has grown over the decades into a celebration of rural life, local produce, livestock, traditional crafts and the island's heritage.

Visitors this year can expect displays of fruit and vegetables, poultry, rabbits, livestock, agricultural machinery and artisan crafts. The programme will also feature children's activities, traditional food and folk entertainment.

Minister Camilleri encouraged Gozitan and Maltese families, together with visitors spending the Santa Marija feast in Gozo, to attend the exhibition and experience one of the island's most enduring annual traditions.
