PN To Call Urgent Parliamentary Discussion About Power-Cuts Around Malta

Taking to social media, Nationalist Party leader Alex Borg, along with Shadow Minister for Energy Mark Anthony Sammut, announced that they will be calling for an urgent parliamentary discussion about the power cuts currently impacting many around Malta.

Saying that despite this being understandable due to the extreme heat in Malta, Borg said that the shadow minister gave him a more detailed explanation of the situation.

This is not a solitary accident, said Borg. ‘This is a problem pertaining to lack of planning that is having massive negative impact for many Maltese and Gozitan families.’

‘We need to see how we can no longer have one summer after another where we lose power’, he added.

Shadow Minister Mark Anthony Sammut recounted the stories of various locals who faced health problems due to the lack of power.

Elderly persons who could not use their electric bed, or people in need of immediate medical assistance not being able to use a lift in an emergency.
