PN Proposes Environmental Protection As A Constitutional Right

The Nationalist Party is urging action to make environmental protection a fundamental right in Malta’s Constitution. The party stresses that citizens have the right to clean seas free from sewage, unpolluted air without excessive dust, safe drinking water, and a healthy, clean environment.

“From frustration to action. We make the environment a fundamental right. This is how you take back control and hold the Government accountable,” said Rebekah Borg, sharing the party’s message. She added, “As your Shadow Minister, I am going to bring your voices into Parliament.”

Mark Anthony Sammut also emphasised: “We need to give the environment the highest priority.”

The Nationalist Party says that recognising the environment as a constitutional right would ensure its protection for current and future generations, underlining the party’s commitment to safeguarding natural resources and improving the quality of life for all citizens.
