PN Proposes ‘Aesthetic Malta’ Plan To Remove Ugly Wires, Broken Street Furniture & Visual Clutter

The Nationalist Party has proposed a new national “Aesthetic Malta” programme aimed at improving the country’s appearance by removing visual clutter and upgrading public spaces.
As part of its electoral manifesto, PN says the initiative would focus on beautifying Malta by tackling elements that “are making the country look unattractive,” including exposed wires, damaged street furniture, random signage, illegal clutter, and developments that do not respect their surroundings.
The party argued that Malta’s appearance should no longer be neglected, describing the country’s aesthetic as an important part of both quality of life and the tourism product.
PN is also proposing new standards for shop façades, signs, terraces, and visual elements in historic centres and tourist areas.
According to the manifesto, the aim is to introduce “modern and sensible” design standards that respect the local architectural character of the islands.
