PN Proposes Added Armed Forces And Police Task Force In Malta To Strengthen Security And Target Foreign Criminal Networks

The Nationalist Party has unveiled a series of proposals aimed at strengthening national security, tackling organised crime and reforming Malta’s immigration system.
Among the measures announced is the creation of a joint task force between the Armed Forces of Malta and the Malta Police Force to boost security and intensify efforts against organised crime.
The unit would focus on foreign criminals, people residing illegally in Malta, as well as drug and human trafficking operations.
The PN also pledged increased investment in police and armed forces infrastructure in Gozo, alongside additional resources and incentives aimed at encouraging more Gozitan soldiers and police officers to serve on the island.
In addition, the party said it would reform the Immigration Appeals Board to make it more independent, transparent and credible, with proceedings chaired by a magistrate to reduce perceptions of political influence.
