PN Promise Mass Transport System In 5 Years

Addressing supporters in Ħal Lija, Opposition leader Alex Borg vowed to have a Mass Transport system working within 5 years if the Nationalist Party is elected into government.
Last February, Alex Borg announced that a Nationalist government will see the launch of a modern mass transport system project in its first 100 days.
Alex Borg expressed that this development is vital in addressing the growing traffic problem in Malta.
Back in September of 2025, PN argued that a trackless tram, or bus rapid transit system, would be more cost-effective and achievable in the near term, rather than the metro proposed by the Labour Party.
Earlier this April, PN leader Alex Borg resisted the topic, stating that a Nationalist government would launch the implementation framework for a mass rapid transport project, with the first line expected to begin operating within five years.
