The Nationalist Party (PN) has pledged that, if elected to government, workers in Malta will be eligible for free health screenings, covering both physical and mental health, with the aim of improving prevention and boosting the country’s productivity and economy.

The announcement was made on Workers’ Day during a press conference held in front of Selmun Tower. The PN revealed plans to transform the area into a national health park focused on prevention, rehabilitation, mental health services, post-operation recovery, and athlete recovery. The proposed facility would also include 60 beds.

PN leader Alex Borg said the project would help ease pressure on Mater Dei Hospital.

“These are proposals that truly improve the quality of life of Maltese people,” he said, emphasising a shift from reactive care to a more preventive healthcare approach.
