PN MP Ryan Callus Will Not Contest Next General Election

Taking to social media, Nationalist MP Ryan Callus announced that he will not be contesting the next general election.
‘After a great deal of thought, and months of discussions with my family, I have made a personal decision that after three legislatures in Parliament, I will not be contesting the upcoming general election’, he explained in a post.
‘This is not an easy decision… in fact, it is one that carries with it many emotions and many beautiful memories. I wish to spend more time with our two young daughters, who have always waited for me at home with patience and love.’
‘I feel very fortunate that for three consecutive legislatures, each time with a stronger mandate, and in the last one elected from two districts, I was able to serve in Parliament on behalf of the Nationalist Party and for all Maltese people.’
He wrote about how he will never forget the canvassers and friends who sacrificed so much time and energy during the campaigning, as well as all the colleagues that worked with him during his political career.
‘Thank you to all of you who throughout these years believed in me, encouraged me, opened your homes and your hearts to me, and entrusted me with your vote. This is a page I am turning… but our story will continue.’
‘The Nationalist Party will keep working because the people are calling for it. And I will keep working too.’
