The Electoral, Records and Data Commission of the Nationalist Party has confirmed that by 1pm today, 66% of eligible members had already cast their vote in the ongoing election for a new Party Leader.

The turnout figure also includes early voting held on Wednesday 27 August and Saturday 30 August. In total, around 20,700 members are eligible to vote.

Voting remains open today until 7pm at the Nationalist Party’s Dar Ċentrali in Pietà and at PN Clubs in Safi, Tarxien and Mġarr. Members in Gozo may cast their vote until 5pm at the party’s Sub Headquarters in Ta’ Sannat.

This crucial election is being contested by Alex Borg and former party leader Adrian Delia. The result, which will determine the next Leader of the Nationalist Party, is expected to be announced later this evening during the PN General Convention.
