PN Leader Alex Borg Calls for Vision, Quality Jobs and Long-Term Planning to Improve Quality of Life

During a Qrib Tagħkom meeting, Nationalist Party leader Alex Borg stated that Malta can offer a better quality of life to Maltese and Gozitans through sound leadership, clear vision and strong political will.
Addressing residents from the Second Region, Borg said the PN believes the country can do better by focusing on quality employment, innovation and long-term economic planning rather than unsustainable growth.
He stressed the need for an economic vision focused on innovation, technology and quality jobs, rather than one based solely on increasing numbers. Borg stated that education must be aligned with the economy to prepare young people for emerging sectors.
He highlighted the rising cost of living, stressing that wages are not keeping pace with expenses, and reiterated the Opposition’s proposals to ease pressure on families, including tax relief on cost-of-living increases. Borg also criticised what he described as wasteful public spending and a lack of transparency under the current government.
On the environment, he criticised what he described as years of inaction, arguing that announced projects must be backed by clear plans and timelines.
He also spoke about transparency in governance, housing affordability, connectivity between Malta and Gozo, and access to medicines, insisting that a Nationalist government would address these challenges through responsible planning, accountability and long-term vision.
