PN Claps Back To Labour Billboard

The Nationalist party clapped back to a billboard by the Labour Party, with “GIDBA,” written in block letters underneath their billboard.
The Labour Party recently warned that energy subsidies may not be secure under a Nationalist administration led by Alex Borg.
Their statement cited several past remarks by Borg, in which he described subsidies as temporary measures, arguing that governments cannot indefinitely sustain the financial burden, particularly amid ongoing energy challenges.
In reply, Borg accused Labour of misrepresenting the Nationalist Party’s position. He insisted that the party is not opposed to subsidies, but rather views them as only one part of a broader energy strategy. According to Borg, a future Nationalist government would implement long-term solutions that extend beyond short-term financial support, while still recognizing the role subsidies play in easing immediate pressures.
He also highlighted Malta’s underutilization of renewable energy, noting that the country has significant potential in solar, wind, and marine resources but has yet to fully capitalize on them.
Borg emphasized the need to diversify energy sources to reduce reliance on a single supply stream. Additionally, he pledged improvements to the energy distribution system to prevent recurring disruptions, particularly during peak summer periods.
