PN Claims Ta’ Qali Restoration Will Cost Maltese Population More

The Nationalist Party has issued a statement regarding the situation at Ta’ Qali.
Responding to comments by Prime Minister Robert Abela, who said that the grass would not grow back in January or February, the Opposition claimed that the restoration of the park’s grass would result in additional costs for the Maltese public.
The PN alleged that the project has already cost Maltese and Gozitan taxpayers €300,000.
The party stated that the Prime Minister’s remarks contrast with earlier comments made by Jason Micallef, who had reportedly assured the public that the grass would grow back following the first rainfall.
In their statement, the Opposition also referred to comments made by Jason Micallef towards Times of Malta editor Herman Grech and podcaster Trudy Kerr, claiming that the Prime Minister did not apologise for Micallef’s behaviour.
PN further stated that Prime Minister Abela did not disclose how much the restoration project is expected to cost.
