PN Claims Government Is Increases Fees And Taxes To Curb Country’s Rising Debt

In a press release, the Nationalist Party claimed that the Labour government’s promises of no new taxes is an “empty rhetoric.”
This statement follows an increase in supervisory fees for banks, investment services providers, insurance companies and intermediaries, trustees, pension scheme providers and crypto operators, stated PN.
Due to this, businesses will be forced to pay more to operate in Malta, they continued, stating that this increase in cost will be passed to the consumer.
Additionally, the Opposition claims that these increases follow new charges in medical products shortly after the budget. They allege that this also occurred without consultation.
PN concluded by declaring that this raised fees and taxes are an attempt at squaring out the rising debt created by uncontrolled government spending.
