PN Calls For Greater Access To Breast Cancer Care

The Nationalist Party released a statement commemorating Pink October, a month dedicated to raising awareness about breast cancer, honouring survivors, remembering those who have passed, and supporting those still battling the disease.
PN emphasised that unfortunately, breast cancer continues to affect many women in Malta each year, underlining the importance of timely access to treatment, education, and support.
The party stressed that the campaign goes beyond symbolism, pointing out that “behind every statistic there is a person, there is a family, there is a community who lives a life of pain.”
PN expressed solidarity with all those impacted by breast cancer and extended its appreciation to medical professionals, NGOs, and volunteers who dedicate themselves daily to fighting the illness.
While acknowledging the progress made in healthcare over the years, the party insisted more needs to be done to ensure equal access to preventive screenings and treatment for all women, regardless of age, financial situation, or social background.
Among its other priorities, PN highlighted the importance of providing mammograms and ultrasounds in a timely manner, offering modern and accessible treatments, and ensuring psychological support services for both patients and their families.
In honor of Pink October, this month Dar Centrali will be lit up in pink to commemorate the cause.
The statement concluded that Pink October should not only be a month of awareness and education but also one of unity, compassion, and collective responsibility towards protecting the health of women across the country.
