PN Address Gozo Channel Traffic Jam During Holiday Season

In a press release by the Nationalist Party, Shadow Ministers Chris Said and Toni Bezzina addressed the disruption experienced by passengers travelling between Malta and Gozo in recent days.
They stated that an increase in tourism during the holidays is expected, and adequate measures should have been implemented to avoid what happened.
The Shadow Ministers claimed that blaming the weather for the traffic jam is inadequate as bad weather resulting in the closure of the fast ferry should be expected during this time of the year.
Additionally, the Nationalist Party alleged that on the second day of the new year, there were not enough workers to accommodate a full vessel, resulting in them departing the port half empty.
They also claimed that the government only introduced a second-hand vessel which allegedly costs €15,000 a day.
