PM Visits TM Official Injured In Road Accident While Working

Prime Minister Robert Abela, accompanied by Transport Minister Chris Bonett, visited the injured Transport Malta official who was injured while working in Ħal Tarxien after a vehicle crashed into their parked car.

Two officials were in the vehicle, with one sustaining light injuries and the other sustaining grievous injuries.

A crash had taken place between a BMW 120 driven by a 24 year oldand a Mercedes E-class driven by a 21 year old. The Mercedes crashed into the parked Peugeot 208, which had the TM officials stationed in it. The latter vehicle crashed into a parked Ford Transit due to the impact.

Following the incident, the 21 year old culprit admitted to having driven recklessly.

He was already allegedly facing several accusations prior to this incident, including a 2025 December accident which led to the death of 31 year old Colombian national Angie Marlen Mesa Gonzalez.

During the visit, the Prime Minister visited the official still hospitalised for the injuries, issuing an appeal for respect and dignity to those who work to ensure safety on our roads.
