PM Robert Abela Pays Tribute To Sette Giugno Victims

Robert Abela has taken to social media to pay tribute to the victims of Sette Giugno; Manuel Attard, Ġużeppi Bajada, Wenzu Dyer and Carmelo Abela.
In 1919, riots broke out in our streets as Maltese people grew more frustrated with rising food prices, economic hardship and colonial governance.
Tensions escalated as British troops intervened, resulting in the deaths of four Maltese protesters.
Abela stated that today we must remember the victims, “our Maltese brothers, that paid with their lives during the events of Sette Giugno.”
Abela explained how this is an “episode that drove us towards sovereignty and the freedom of our country.”
