PM Meets Six Maltese Prisoners Visiting Vatican For Jubilee

While in Rome during his visit to the Vatican and Pope Leo XIV, Prime Minster Robert Abela, along with Lydia Abela and Giorgia Mae, had the opportunity to meet six Maltese who are currently serving a prison sentence.
The six were in Rome visiting for the Pope’s Prisoners Jubilee, having been chosen to visit along with Correctional Facility staff.
‘Together we visited the grave of Pope Francis at the Basilica of Saint Mary Major’, wrote Abela, ‘and spoke about the importance society has in working towards rehabilitation.’
‘During this time, it is crucial to emphasise the importance of a person getting another chance.’
