PL Youths Invite PN Youths For Budget 2026 Discussion

Labour Youths has invited the Nationalist Party’s youth wings, MŻPN and Team Start, to a meeting at the Labour Party headquarters to discuss the 2026 Budget.
The group said the initiative followed the scenes in Parliament earlier this week, when Prime Minister Robert Abela’s Budget speech was disrupted by several MPs.
According to Żgħażagħ Laburisti, the meeting is intended to promote constructive dialogue despite political differences.
The Labour youth wing said the group stands “for good politics” and that “what happened in Parliament this week doesn’t define us.”
They noted that during the Prime Minister’s address, “total chaos and disruption arose” as MPs were asked to leave the chamber, while others “went as far as obstructing the national broadcasting cameras.”
Żgħażagħ Laburisti said disagreement is a natural part of politics, but argued that “ridiculing a Budget, or any project, just because it came from the opposing side isn’t good politics.”
The organisation added that inviting their PN counterparts was meant as a signal that they “believe in proposing better ideas, not in silencing others out of spite.”
