PL PROPOSE TAX EXEMPTION ON FIRST €30,000 EARNED BY YOUTHS ENTERING THE WORKFORCE

The Labour Party has proposed a tax exemption scheme for young people entering the workforce or launching their own start-ups, as part of its election programme.
Under the measure, youths would not pay income tax on the first €30,000 they earn during their first three years of full-time employment or self-employment.
The proposal is aimed at easing the financial burden on young workers and encouraging entrepreneurship at an early stage of their careers.
According to the party, the scheme could leave young people with up to €12,300 in additional disposable income over the three-year period.
The initiative forms part of a broader set of proposals targeting younger generations, with a focus on improving financial independence and supporting business creation.
It is being presented as a key measure to help youths build a more secure economic future.
