Speaking during a Labour Party event, Prime Minister Robert Abela proposed an Individual Support Plan that would be set up for persons with disabilities that will be personalised for their needs.

The plan will be created by a team of professionals along with the persons with disabilities and their parents/guardians.

In the case that the person cannot enter the workforce, a personal budget will be allocated based upon their needs as set through the Individual Support Plan.

This budget will cover all fees that this person would need to live an independent and quality life.

This comes as part of further proposals aimed at improving the lives of persons with disabilities, which include a €1,000 therapy fund for persons with disabilities aged between 18 and 23.
