Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri and Minister for Equality and Civil Rights Rosianne Cutajar, along with Shadow Minister for Gozo Frank Anthony Tabone and Shadow for Family & Children Norma Camilleri attended the fifth edition of Gozo Pride 2026, held under the theme "Pride Without Permission".

The event promoted freedom, dignity and every person's right to live without fear of discrimination, prejudice or exclusion.

Addressing those present, Minister Camilleri said Pride represents far more than an annual celebration. He described it as a symbol of courage, advocacy and social change that has helped Malta make significant progress in equality and civil rights.

Minister Rosianne Cutajar said this year's theme sends a clear message that everyone has the right to be themselves, love whom they choose and live with dignity without seeking approval from others. While recognising Malta's achievements in equality and human rights, she said these advances should never be taken for granted and must continue to be protected and strengthened for future generations.

LGBTIQ+ Executive Member Roan Coughtry said Pride is also an opportunity to protest against injustice, discrimination and violence, warning that rights can never be assumed to be permanent.

PN MP Frank Anthony Tabone also shared a statement to social media, with a photo of the politicians from across the political aisle marching together in support of the community.
