Photos & Videos Of Indecent Show In Valletta From Over Year Ago, Says Minister

Taking to social media, Minister for Home Affairs Glenn Bedingfield said that circulating footage and photos of an indecent show taking place on the stairs of Ta’ Ġieżu in Valletta was taken a number of years ago.
‘Photos and videos were circulated that gave the impression an indecent show was taking place’ recently, said the Minister.
‘However, those photos and videos date back more than a year, and what they depicted was stopped at the time. It is not fair to create a different impression.’
This follows a post by Knish Ta’ Ġieżu - Patrijiet Franġiskani l-Belt Valletta, who said: ‘It’s not just that this permit should not be issued. We also want the illegal activities and the noise in our street to stop.’
‘If you expose your stomach in public, you get fined. The authorities have known about all of this for a long time. We report the noise, the police come and speak to them, but as soon as they leave, the volume goes back up.’
‘As a Minister, I want to be honest, and I expect honesty from others. There is still more to be done in our capital city, Valletta, even though we have increased the police presence and introduced on the spot fines for those who fail to follow the rules, including those relating to indecent dress’, said Bedingfield.
‘My door is always open to everyone, and many people submit complaints and reports which we act upon. Where challenges exist, I want us to work hand in hand to overcome them.’
