Pet Rabbit Founds With All 4 Legs Snapped In Għajnsielem

The Malta Ranger Unit reported that a pet rabbit was found in Għajnsielem with its legs snapped and left to die.

‘The rabbit, which overall was very healthy, was found in a remote area of Għajnsielem and not able to jump’, they explained.

‘When checked, it appeared that the rabbit had had all its 4 legs snapped, seemingly deliberately, at the joints and left to die.’

‘Our Rangers called Animal Welfare, who normally would only take in cats and dogs. In this case, they assisted to take the rabbit to the vet where it most likely would be humanely euthanized due to the severe injuries.’

‘Our Rangers have informed the Gozo Police of this case since it's of odd nature. We urge the public to be on the lookout when out trekking. Should you come across any injured wildlife, please get in touch!’
