On Friday the 3rd of October, the main gardens of Ta’ Qali National Park were buzzing with excitement as dozens of families attended the Festa Annimali.

The event featured a delightful mix of children’s games, animal walks, exhibitions, horses, local crafts, music, and entertainment for all ages.

A special highlight of the morning was the blessing of the animals, which saw pupils from St. Francis School, their teachers, parents, and, most importantly, their beloved pets take part in the heartwarming ceremony.

Dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, and other animals joined the celebration, creating a truly magical atmosphere for all participants.

The festivities continue over the weeekned, starting from 10:30 am.

Organised by the Ministry for Agriculture, Fisheries, and Animal Rights in collaboration with the National Park, Festa Annimali invites families to bring their pets and enjoy a day full of fun, learning, and community spirit.

Anton Refalo, Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries, and Animal Rights, explained that the event highlights the country’s commitment to animal welfare and provides a space for communities to celebrate those who work daily to support animals.
