Pembroke Residents Make Their Voices Heard Over Development Of Sports Complex

Yesterday, Pembroke residents, along with Moviment Graffiti and other organisations, came together to make their voices heard against the development of a sports complex in Triq Gabriel Henin.
On their social media, Moviment Graffiti explained how the government has announced the development of a “sports and commercial complex”in this area.
Most of the area is untouched land directly adjacent to a protected Natura 2000 site.
“We are in no way opposed to sporting clubs having their own facilities,” emphasised the organisation.
“However, we are absolutely certain that there are other sites where such activity can take place without destroying our natural heritage and creating intolerable conditions for residents,” they continued.
Apart from the use of untouched land, many are opposing the project due to factors like increased traffic, light and noise pollution.
Moviment Graffiti is calling for the government and Opposition “to respect our communities, our natural heritage, and the common good of our country.”
