Partit Momentum Announces Candidates For All 13 Districts

Momentum has announced a slate of seven candidates who will contest the upcoming general election across all thirteen electoral districts.

The party described the team as comprising professionals from diverse backgrounds, united by a shared commitment to good governance, environmental protection and economic justice.

The candidates will be distributed across districts as follows:

Billy McBee will contest Districts 1 and 6; Dr Matthew Agius will stand in Districts 2 and 8; Mark Camilleri Gambin will contest Districts 3 and 11; Dr Alastair Farrugia will stand in Districts 4 and 5; Prof Pierre Schembri-Wismayer will contest Districts 7 and 10; Prof Arnold Cassola will stand in Districts 9 and 10; and Carmel Asciak will contest Districts 12 and 13.

According to Momentum, the candidates include academics, scientists, entrepreneurs and community activists. The party said they are not career politicians but individuals stepping forward to contribute to public life.

Chairperson Prof Arnold Cassola stated: “Roughly one third of Malta’s electorate feels politically orphaned.”

“They are tired of choosing between two parties that have taken turns running this country into the ground while rewarding their own.” He added that the party is offering voters “a real change, not only a change of colour.”
