Part Of Triq Il-Marfa, Mellieħa Wall Collapses: Road Closed For Safety

The Mellieħa Local Council issued a statement regarding the recently collapsed section of a wall along Triq il-Marfa, near Għajn tal-Mellieħa.

Sharing a photo of the wall, showing large boulders obstructing the road, the local council said that authorities were informed and any immediate danger was promptly removed.

‘The Council is also requesting remedial intervention on the affected section, together with an inspection of the remaining stretch of the wall to ensure that no other sections may pose a safety risk.’

An update revealed that contact between the local council and Infrastructure Malta was established, with the rad closed immediately for safety reasons.

Access for Għadira resident swill remain available from Mellieħa bypass, whereas transport will be diverted via Triq Edward Camilleri. Transport Malta officials and the Police will be assisting on site with traffic management and to help ensure safety in the area.
