Paola Mayor Regains Access To Accounts After Warrant Is Lifted
Local

The warrant against Paola Mayor Jason Silvio has been lifted, giving him access to his personal bank accounts and assets once again.

It was revealed yesterday that a building developer took legal action against Silvio after the Paola Local Council appealed a Planning Authority decision concerning the town’s Urban Conservation Area (UCA).

The freezing of Silvio’s accounts was strongly condemned by local politicians, including Prime Minister Robert Abela, who offered the mayor full State protection throughout his legal battle.

Last night, the Prime Minister took to social media again to announce that the warrant against Silvio had been withdrawn. He also reiterated his support for the mayor, saying that his government would continue to protect people who serve in public office.
