Paola Garden Dedicated To Hibs President Tony Bezzina Officially Inaugurated

Paola’s Tony Bezzina Garden was officially inaugurated on Friday evening, marking the completion of a major urban regeneration project in the heart of the locality.
The garden is dedicated to Tony Bezzina, commemorating his contributions to local sport and the community, with a bust installed in his honour.
The initiative transformed approximately 2,600 square metres into a modern, accessible public space for residents and visitors.
The project was delivered through a collaboration between the Ministry for Transport, Infrastructure and Public Works, the Ministry for the Environment, Energy and Public Cleanliness, and the Paola Local Council.
Highlights include Malta’s first professionally designed skatepark built to European standards, a public garden, a children’s playground, benches, pedestrian pathways, and enhanced lighting.
During construction, a World War II shelter was uncovered, with a dedicated entrance added to preserve public access.
Environmental sustainability was also incorporated, including a water reservoir for irrigation and solar panels for lighting.
