Over €700,000 Raised For ‘Id-Dar Tal-Providenza’ Through BOV Volleyball Marathon

A record-breaking €707,586 was raised during the 16th edition of the BOV Volleyball Marathon, which took place for the first time at MFCC in Ta' Qali between July 16th and 18th.
The fundraising marathon saw 40 players, divided into five teams, play volleyball continuously for 53 hours. The event was officially inaugurated on Thursday evening by the President of Malta, H.E. Dr Myriam Spiteri Debono.
Mgr Martin Micallef, Director of Id-Dar tal-Providenza, thanked the Maltese public for their overwhelming generosity, as well as the players, volunteers, organisers, sponsors, broadcasters, performers, the Police, the Armed Forces of Malta Band and everyone who contributed to the event's success.
Founded in 1965, Id-Dar tal-Providenza provides residential care and support for people with disabilities, offering a safe and inclusive environment that promotes dignity, independence and quality of life.
The annual marathon is one of its most important fundraising events.
