Malta International Airport recorded strong passenger traffic in February, with a total of 658,328 travellers passing through the terminal during the month.

The airport said daily traffic peaked on February 15, when 30,875 passengers were recorded as the busy Carnival and Valentine’s Day weekend came to a close.

The figures highlight a continued upward trend for Malta’s main gateway as travel demand remains strong.

Seat capacity reached 806,540 during the month, representing a year-on-year increase of 15.8%.

Meanwhile, the seat load factor, which measures how full flights are, climbed to 81.6%, marking a 1.1% improvement compared to the same period in 2025.

Italy remained Malta International Airport’s largest market in February, accounting for 18.2% of total passenger traffic. The United Kingdom followed closely behind with a market share of 18.1%.

Airport officials say the year has started on a positive note, with the upcoming summer schedule expected to further boost connectivity and passenger numbers.
