Over 6,000 Vehicle Inspections And 15,000 Fines Between January & August 2025

In a new feature speaking about the educational campaign ‘Aħsibha Darbtejn’, Minister for Transport Chris Bonett revealed that between January and August of 2025 there were over 6,000 vehicles inspections.
Furthermore, Transport Malta officials also issued around 15,000 fines issued for road rule breaches in the same time period.
The Minister said that there have been significant investments so that the officials are prepared to deal with anything they might encounter out on the roads.
Apart from also moving to strengthen laws when it comes to road accidents that lead to road fatalities due to intoxication, the Minister also highlighted the kickstarting of the ‘Aħsibha Darbtejn’ (Think Twice) campaign.
The campaign aims to raise awareness in drivers about the responsibilities we all have on the road and how irresponsible driving can lead to not just harming oneself but even others who are innocent.
