Over 60 Students Rewarded For Creative Skills During Anti Domestic Violence Campaign

Pupils aged between six and sixteen have taken part in a nationwide initiative encouraging them to explore themes of healthy relationships and the consequences of domestic violence through creative expression.
The activity formed part of the “16 Days of Activism Against Domestic Violence”, held under the theme “We Have a Dream: A Future Without Violence”.
Students submitted a range of works, including visual art, poetry and written compositions, reflecting on respect, safety and the realities of abuse, including in online spaces.
Around 70 participants were awarded prizes during a ceremony organised by the Parliamentary Secretariat for Equality and Reforms in collaboration with the Commission on Gender-Based and Domestic Violence.
Prizes were presented by Dr Lydia Abela, together with Parliamentary Secretary Rebecca Buttigieg and Commissioner Samantha Pace Gasan.
Speakers praised the students’ creativity, stressing the importance of early education in promoting respect and equality, and highlighting the role young people can play in building a society free from violence.
