Over 55% Of Maltese Went On Tourism Trip In 2024

A recent study by Eurostat analysed the percentage of Europeans who participated in tourism trips in 2024.
According to this data, 58.22% of Maltese people aged 15 and over participated in some kind of trip for touristic reasons.
In 2024, 285,513 Maltese went on a tourism trip, a 6.2% increase from the previous year. There was a 1.5% increase in domestic trips, and a 5.2% increase in foreign ones.
The EU country with the highest number of citizens who went on touristic trips is Norway, standing at 90.82%. The lowest is Romania with 27.65%.
