Over 484,000 Tourists Visited Malta Between January & February 2026

Total inbound tourists for February 2026 were estimated at 249,139, an increase of 18.5% compared to the corresponding month in 2025.
During the month under review, 224,757 inbound tourists visited Malta for holiday purposes, while 14,600 travelled for business purposes.

The largest share of inbound tourists was aged between 25 and 44 (35.7%), followed closely by the 45 to 64 age group (35.0%).
British, Polish and Italian residents together accounted for 49.6% of total inbound tourists.
Total nights spent increased by 10.3% compared to February 2025, reaching 1.4 million nights. The majority of guest nights, at 90.5%, were spent in rented accommodation establishments. The average length of stay stood at 5.5 nights.
Total tourist expenditure reached €171.7 million, an increase of 16.9% over the same month in 2025. The average expenditure per night was estimated at €125.8.
The number of tourists visiting Gozo and Comino, including both same-day and overnight visitors, totalled 103,579, representing 41.6% of total tourists.

For the January to February 2026 period, inbound tourists totalled 484,911, marking a 19.9% increase over the same period in 2025. Total nights spent rose by 16.1% to 2.7 million nights.
Total tourist expenditure for the period was estimated at €350.6 million, an increase of 21.1% compared to 2025. Expenditure per capita rose to €723 from €716. Visitors to Gozo and Comino totalled 197,080, representing 40.6% of all tourists.
