Over 460 Divorce Cases Settled In Local Courts In 2025
Local
Divorce cases in Malta and Gozo have risen steadily over the past five years. In 2025, the Courts concluded 458 cases in Malta and 24 in Gozo.
Looking at previous years, 424 divorces were decided in Malta and 23 in Gozo in 2024; 500 and 13 in 2023; 531 and 18 in 2022; 360 and 16 in 2021; and 291 and 10 in 2020.
This information was provided in Parliament by Jonathan Attard, Minister for Justice and Reform of the Construction Sector, in response to a parliamentary question submitted by Nationalist MP Chris Said.
