Over 400,000 Tourists Visited Malta In April 2026

Malta's tourism sector continued its strong performance in April 2026, with inbound tourist arrivals reaching an estimated 409,403, representing a 16.6% increase compared to the same month last year.

According to the latest figures released by the National Statistics Office, tourists spent a total of 2,130,733 nights in Malta during April, while overall expenditure reached €335.0 million.

The majority of guest nights, 89.2% of the total, were spent in rented accommodation establishments.

The positive trend was also reflected in the first four months of the year.

Between January and April 2026, inbound tourist arrivals totalled 1,215,966, while total nights spent reached 6.6 million.

Tourist expenditure during this four-month period was estimated at €919.7 million, underlining the sector's significant contribution to the Maltese economy.

Expenditure per capita stood at €756, indicating sustained spending levels among visitors.
