Over 30 Packets Of Suspected Heroin Found In San Ġwann Drug Bust

Two individuals were arrested on Wednesday following intensive investigations and continuous surveillance related to suspected drug trafficking and illegal activity.
At around 1:45 p.m, police officers stopped a Citroen vehicle in Triq in-Naxxar, San Ġwann.
Inside the car were a 38-year-old Maltese man from Msida, who was driving, and a 39-year-old Maltese woman residing in San Ġwann.
A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 31 packets containing a substance suspected to be heroin, with an estimated street value exceeding €2,500. Police also found approximately €6,000 in cash.
Further searches were conducted at the suspects’ residence, where authorities seized a number of luxury items as well as several vehicles belonging to the pair.
Among these were a Mercedes A Class and an Audi Q5.
The man and woman are currently being held in police custody for further questioning.
They are expected to be arraigned in court in the coming days, where they will face charges related to alleged drug trafficking, possession, and money laundering.
