Over 23,000 Tree Vouchers Issued Since Launch Of Tree Planting Initiative

Digital vouchers for beneficiaries of the Tree Planting Initiative continue to be issued, bringing the total number of trees allocated through the scheme to 23,000 across more than 250 beneficiaries.
The first group of beneficiaries received their vouchers and trees last month during the Family in the Park event, where 13,000 trees were distributed. In less than a month, additional beneficiaries have joined the initiative, working alongside Project Green in a collective effort to increase tree planting across the country.
So far, vouchers issued cover 23,000 trees distributed among 250 beneficiaries.

These include participants from both phases of the scheme. The first phase targeted applicants with more than one tumolo of land who requested over forty-five trees, while the second phase focused on those with less than one tumolo of land applying for fewer than forty-five trees. Some vouchers have already been redeemed through partner suppliers, with trees successfully delivered.
Further vouchers will continue to be issued in the coming weeks.
The initiative, which aims to support agroforestry and strengthen climate resilience, has generated strong interest, with additional applications still being received through www.projectgreen.mt.
In recent weeks, applicants with less than one tumolo of land requesting fewer than forty-five trees have begun to be contacted.
The trees included in the scheme consist of both productive and non-productive species, ensuring more sustainable land use. Full details of tree varieties and approved suppliers are also available on the Project Green website.
