Over 210 Athletes Set for Inaugural Tallinja Malta Youth International Athletics Festival

The inaugural Tallinja Malta Youth International Athletics Festival is set to make a strong debut, attracting more than 210 young athletes from Europe and beyond, highlighting the event's immediate international appeal.
Organised by Athletics Malta, the festival will take place on Saturday, 4 July, at the Matthew Micallef St. John Stadium and is expected to become a key fixture in the youth athletics calendar. Designed for athletes born between 2009 and 2015, the competition aims to provide young competitors with an international-standard environment while giving local athletes the opportunity to compete against their peers from overseas without leaving Malta.
The response to the first edition has exceeded expectations, with a particularly strong contingent will be arriving from Lombardy, Italy, while athletes representing other European and African countries will also take part, creating a truly international atmosphere for the event.
Adding to the significance of the festival is the participation of a number of Special Olympics athletes, reflecting Athletics Malta's commitment to inclusion and ensuring that sport provides opportunities for everyone to compete, develop and excel. The exceptional level of interest demonstrates the demand for high-quality youth competitions in the region and reinforces the Association's vision of establishing Malta as a destination for international athletics events.
The event is supported by Malta Public Transport as part of a partnership with Athletics Malta. Preparations are now in their final stages as organisers look forward to welcoming athletes, coaches and supporters for what promises to be a memorable first edition.
