Over 200 Tree Obstructions Cleared By CPD After Storm Harry

Civil Protection Malta issued an update of all the works in undertook related to Storm Harry, having cleared 228 tree obstructions as of 06:00hrs today.

CPD also addressed 199 debris clearance operations, 14 billboard/sign incidents, 45 electrical hazards, 6 HAZMAT spillages, 6 rubbish fires and 3 vehicle fires.

1 person was rescued from being locked in a lift, with CPD also addressing 5 police assistance requests, 3 medical extrications, 27 persons trapped in vehicles and 6 flooding incidents.

‘CPD crews remain fully deployed and continue to work in coordination with other emergency services to ensure public safety and restore normality where possible’, explained CPD.

‘The general public is strongly advised to avoid coastal areas, exercise extreme caution when travelling, and strictly adhere to instructions issued by the authorities.’
