Over 10.06 Million Passengers Moved Through Malta Airport In 2025

Malta International Airport continued to strengthen and diversify its connectivity in 2025, linking the islands to 111 airports across 37 markets.
A total of 34 airlines operated from Malta during the year, including four new entrants, namely LOT Polish Airlines, Qatar Airways, SAS Scandinavian Airlines and Volotea.
Available seat capacity increased by just over 13 percent year on year, while load factors remained broadly stable.
This growth enabled the airport to handle just over 10.06 million passenger movements in 2025.
Qatar Airways connected Malta to Doha, while LOT and SAS enhanced links with Poland and Scandinavia respectively.
The United Kingdom reclaimed its position as the airport’s largest market, accounting for 20 percent of traffic following 17 percent growth.

Poland emerged as the fastest growing market, recording almost 49 percent growth.
Looking ahead, Malta International Airport forecasts around 10.5 million passenger movements in 2026, supported by continued winter growth and a strong start to the year.
