Żibel and dozens of volunteers returned to the shores of Gżira for another successful Saturday clean-up, collecting more than a tonne of waste from the coastline.

A total of 70 volunteers joined the initiative, working alongside the Żibel team to remove and sort an impressive 1,126.96 kilograms of land litter and marine debris from the area’s shores.

The clean-up involved a coordinated effort between diver volunteers, land volunteers and sorting volunteers, all contributing to the large-scale operation aimed at keeping Malta’s coastlines clean and protecting the marine environment.

Żibel expressed its gratitude to everyone who participated in the initiative, praising the dedication shown by volunteers throughout the morning.

The NGO also encouraged those interested in helping the environment to join future events, confirming that another clean-up is already scheduled for next week.

Through regular coastal clean-ups and community engagement, Żibel continues to mobilise volunteers across Malta to tackle marine litter and promote environmental responsibility.
