Over 1,100 Final Deeds Of Residential Property Sales In January 2026
In January 2026, a total of 1,127 final deeds of sale relating to residential property were registered, marking an increase of 4.7% compared with January 2025.
The total value of these transactions reached €382.4 million, a significant rise of 23.4% over the same month last year.
Of the final deeds recorded, 1,003 or 89.0% involved individual buyers, namely households, while companies accounted for virtually all remaining transactions.
The value of deeds involving households amounted to €268.9 million, representing 70.3% of the overall value.
The highest numbers of final deeds of sale were registered in San Pawl il-Baħar with 99 transactions, followed by Birkirkara with 64 and Marsaskala with 52. A total of 1,206 properties were transacted through these final deeds.
Apartments accounted for the largest share at 37.5% or 452 properties, followed by garages at 21.0% or 253 properties.
Meanwhile, 1,159 promise of sale agreements were registered in January 2026, reflecting a 5.8% increase compared with the same period in 2025.
Of these, 1,037 or 89.5% involved individual prospective buyers, while the remainder primarily involved companies.
By locality, the highest numbers of promise of sale agreements were recorded in San Pawl il-Baħar with 92, Birkirkara with 60 and Il-Mosta with 52.
