Our Commitment To Mental Health Tested In Times Of Tragedy, Says Minister On Marsalforn Incident

Taking to social media, Minister for Home Affairs Glenn Bedingfield addressed the recent issue wherein a person set himself on fire in Marsalforn.

‘Yesterday we had an unusual incident in Marsalforn, where a Maltese man set himself on fire. Everyone who was present was shocked, and understandably so’, said the Minister.

Investigations are ongoing, he said, but went on to express his disappointment at the Opposition for ‘trying to turn this case into a political issue.’

‘Our commitment to mental health is measured by our attitude when human tragedies occur. We must walk the talk, otherwise it is nothing more than empty words.’

He also thanked the two Syrian persons who immediately provided first aid on site and called the police.
