Only 2.4% of Maltese people spend at least 30 minutes walking or cycling per day, which is the second lowest rate in Europe.
In a graphic shared by the Facebook page Geographic Enigma, only Cyprus ranked lower than Malta, where 0.1% of their population report walking or using bicycles in their day to day lives.
Unsurprisingly, The Netherlands has the highest rate of walkers and cyclists, with 44% of Dutch people using these methods of transport for at least 30 minutes per day. Slovakia earned the second highest percentage with 25.8%.
