A fourth survey conducted by statistician Vincent Marmara during the 2026 General Election campaign has examined voter preferences for the office of Prime Minister, shedding light on how different voter blocs perceive the main political contenders.

Among respondents who voted for the Partit Laburista in 2022, 87.6% said they prefer Robert Abela as Prime Minister, while 2.3% chose Alex Borg. A further 5.2% were undecided, 2.6% said “no one”, and 2.3% selected other options.

In contrast, among 2022 Partit Nazzjonalista voters, 82.2% expressed a preference for Alex Borg, while 4.0% preferred Robert Abela. The remaining respondents were split between undecided (7.7%), no preference (4.6%), and other choices (1.5%).

After applying a statistical weighting model to account for non-responses, the projected overall results show Robert Abela leading with 47.8%, followed by Alex Borg on 33.3%. A further 2.4% preferred other figures, 7.0% indicated no preference, and 9.5% remained undecided.

According to the survey conducted by Vincent Marmara, this translates into a 14.5% lead for Robert Abela in overall preference for Prime Minister. The findings highlight strong party-aligned preferences among voters, while also pointing to a significant share of the electorate that has yet to make up its mind as the campaign develops.
