BLUE BADGE HOLDER HIGHLIGHTS THE CHALLENGES OF INCONSIDERATE PARKING

Aġenzija Sapport CEO Oliver Scicluna has urged motorists to be more considerate of people with disabilities after sharing an experience involving a Blue Badge parking space.

In a Facebook post, Scicluna explained that he had legally parked his car in a designated Blue Badge space outside a local establishment, using his own Blue Badge.

However, when he returned to his vehicle, he found another car parked in a way that left him with very limited space to get back into his car.

Scicluna explained that, due to his mobility difficulties, he needs to open the car door fully and use it for support when getting into the vehicle. He also said that he cannot easily manoeuvre through narrow spaces.

Addressing motorists, he asked them to pay greater attention to the vehicles parked next to them and to consider the needs of other people before leaving their cars.

“Sometimes, a few centimetres can make a huge difference to another person,” he said.

With a touch of humour, Scicluna also pointed out that there was plenty of space on the other side of his vehicle.

He concluded by encouraging greater awareness and respect, noting that people do not always see the difficulties others face, but small acts of consideration can make everyday life easier for everyone.
